NDP to drop its monthly hardware sales numbers

In a strange move, the American NDP  group that is responsible for keeping track of console and video game software sales, amongst other things, anounced that it would be dropping it's local monthly report of consoles sold in America. Check out more on this bizarre move after the jump.

This is a bad thing for anyone who is in love with arguing online about the fabled "Console wars". The NDP has stated it is leaving it up to the hardware manufacturers to report its own sales numbers, which we all know will either never get released to the public, or be twisted as consoles sold.... to retailers. This is going to be bad news to a lot of "passionate fanboys fans" out there.

They also announced they will not be showing sales numbers in their "Top 10" video games sold list, just the list itself. Either way, I think it's baffling why the NDP would scale back on something like this.
